This haunting environment is meant to touch on our desire to preserve life and our feelings of anxiety surrounding loss. These feelings exist not only on the individual level, but on the communal and global as well, considering we are in the middle of a human-driven mass extinction, resulting in incredible loss of life and biodiversity. Each animal in the menagerie is an individual subject recorded by the artist, the immaterial essence of an embodied experience captured digitally. Each is equally the representative of a species, a stand-in for billions of years of evolution.
